Certification Statement

1. Overview

Firmtech sp. z o.o. ("FirmTech") provides engineering services that include product certification support and regulatory compliance consulting. This statement clarifies the scope and limitations of our role in certification-related activities.

2. Our Role in Certification

FirmTech acts as an engineering partner that supports clients throughout the certification process. Our involvement typically includes:

  • Design-for-compliance — integrating regulatory constraints into hardware, firmware, and RF architecture from the earliest stages of development.
  • Pre-compliance testing — conducting internal measurements and assessments to identify and resolve potential issues before formal lab testing.
  • Documentation preparation — compiling technical files, test reports, risk assessments, and declarations required by regulatory bodies.
  • Lab coordination — managing communication with accredited test laboratories, scheduling tests, and supporting the resolution of any findings.
  • Strategic certification planning — determining the optimal sequencing and scope of certifications based on target markets and product characteristics.

3. Regulatory Frameworks

Our certification expertise covers a broad range of regulatory frameworks and standards, including but not limited to:

Radio & EMC

RED (Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU), FCC Part 15, IC (Industry Canada), ETSI EN 300 328, ETSI EN 301 893, EN 55032, EN 55035, EN 61000 series.

Cybersecurity

ETSI EN 303 645, RED Delegated Regulation 2022/30 (Articles 3.3 d/e/f), applicable from 1 August 2025 for CE marking of connected devices.

Safety

Low Voltage Directive (LVD 2014/35/EU), IEC 62368-1 (Audio/Video, IT and Communication Equipment), IEC 60950, IEC 61010.

Environmental

RoHS (2011/65/EU), REACH (EC 1907/2006), WEEE (2012/19/EU).

4. Limitations and Disclaimers

It is important to understand the following limitations regarding our certification services:

  • FirmTech is not an accredited test laboratory or a notified body. We do not issue certificates, test reports with accreditation marks, or declarations of conformity on behalf of our clients. Final declarations of conformity are the responsibility of the manufacturer or the party placing the product on the market.
  • Certification outcomes cannot be guaranteed. While we apply proven engineering practices and extensive experience to maximise the likelihood of successful certification, pass/fail results are ultimately determined by accredited laboratories and regulatory authorities.
  • Pre-compliance results are indicative, not binding. Internal pre-compliance assessments are intended to reduce risk and identify potential issues early. They do not replace formal testing at accredited facilities.
  • Regulatory requirements evolve. Standards and directives are subject to change by regulatory bodies. FirmTech makes reasonable efforts to track relevant updates but cannot guarantee that all future amendments are reflected in real time.
  • Scope is defined per engagement. The specific certification scope, target markets, applicable standards, and deliverables are agreed upon individually for each project and documented in the relevant project agreement or statement of work.

5. Our Approach

FirmTech follows a structured, design-integrated approach to certification:

Compliance-driven architecture

Regulatory constraints are factored into hardware, firmware, and mechanical design decisions from day one — not treated as a final checkpoint.

Early pre-compliance validation

We conduct internal RF, EMC, and safety assessments during development to identify and resolve issues before committing to formal lab testing.

Strategic sequencing

We plan the certification timeline in parallel with engineering milestones — pre-compliance, design freeze, and final testing are coordinated to minimise delays.

Cybersecurity integration

With mandatory cybersecurity requirements (ETSI EN 303 645, RED 3.3 d/e/f) taking effect for CE marking, we build security measures — secure boot, OTA updates, access controls, and data protection — into the product architecture from the start.

6. Track Record

FirmTech has supported the successful certification of connected products across multiple regulatory regimes, including CE, FCC, UKCA, TRA, ECAS, GCC, SASO, and RoHS — covering radio, EMC, safety, environmental, and cybersecurity requirements.
